Not less than 150 students of poor parental background, including orphans, have benefited free school uniforms distributed by an NGO, ‘Caleb Danladi Foundation’ (CDF) in Jaba LGA of Kaduna State.
Beneficiaries of the good gesture comprised of male and female pupils of LEA Primary School Samban Gida, LEA Primary School Gumbong and LEA Primary School Ungwan Rana, respectively.
About N300,000 to N350,000 was estimated as cost of providing the uniforms owning to increase in cost of materials, according to the founder, Captain Caleb Danladi, who was represented by the coordinator, Mr. David M. Tuk.
Distributing the uniforms on Monday, the coordinator, Mr. Tuk, said the foundation firmly believed in doing everything humanly possible to support growth and development of the less-privileged children in the society.
Tuk also stated that the core essence of providing the uniforms by the foundation was to encourage the pupils for their education to have a brighter future, saying, “This is a primary section. Not all students, but we give it to less-privileged ones.”
The distribution, which took place in Samban Gida, around 9am-10am on Monday, was attended by Head Teacher and the Mistress of the schools.
CDF, whose objective is to, among others, “give hope to the hopeless” through provision of life support materials, scholarship to vibrant youths who are less-privilege and reach out to widows and orphans; as well as provide succor to victims of disaster, among others, also gave 22 students cash awards for 2023 JAMB registration and scholarship recently.
